New Year. New Career

We’ve all heard of new year new me. But what about new year new career. Things can so easily become so mundane at work. Once you’ve been doing the same thing over and over again, it really can become quite boring. So why spend the whole of next year doing something you’re just not happy doing when you could go and find yourself a career that you actually love?

Whether you like it or not, you’re going to have to work for the rest of your life. Unless you win the lottery of course. So you might as well spend it doing something that makes you happy for once. Here are some great new career ideas for you.

Freelancing just equals complete freedom. Well, almost. Rather than being stuck in an office 24/7, you’re usually able to work from wherever you want in the world. Most people work from home and don’t even tend to get out of bed. Yes, it can be pretty hard to stay motivated, but if you get into the right mind frame this can be something that is suited for anyone.

There are so many different career choices that can take you down a freelance career path. Writing, photography, makeup artist. So whatever tickles your fancy, you should try giving it a go on your own. You usually get to set your own wage as well which makes things even easier. You obviously get to work your own hours as well.

Some of you will absolutely love cars and driving around. So why not make it a lifelong career? A taxi driver, lorry driver, or even test track driver. There’s so many different routes you could take with this. For some of them, you will need to take on additional qualifications for some of them.

This is where apprenticeships come in handy. They give you the on the job training you need, at the same time as getting paid. A lot of people have lives to lead that mean they can’t afford to stop working completely. Find an apprenticeship that works for you and follow your dreams. Most of them will obviously only pay apprenticeship wages, but some do still pay the normal pay you’d be used to. You may have to be prepared to take a little bit of a pay cut.

Holiday Rep

A lot of these are only seasonal, but it is such an exciting career venture. There are still opportunities for progression in them as well. There are some really stunning destinations around the world that you can be sent to that allow you to travel and have fun, at the same time as working and earning. Usually you’d do a season out there which usually lasts a few months. It is only a temporary job, but it gives you a break from the normal daily grind of life.

It will also give you time to reflect and think about what you actually want from your future, and what career you want to end up in.
